Gifted and Ashamed - Poetry

She became a vault

Storing the wealth of her inside

Not wanting anyone else to even get a glimpse of all she was called to be

Scared of their remarks

Insecure in the reality

of not feeling worthy of the calling

Scared

She hid

Took the lamp and covered it

Hoping that she could fit in

Feeling like the odd one

Working effortlessly to look the part

Distinguished in her knowledge

Yet knowledgeable enough to know she knows nothing at all
